- My goals and intentions for this project were to get the outline of my dog precise and to make her fur move in the right direction.
- I accomplished my goals by looking at the original picture and look at how she is lying on the ground.
- I was surprised at how hard it was to cut deep enough in the linoleum plate.
- The most difficult challenge was trying not to let the cuts fill in when inking up the plate.
- I met that challenge by putting a lot on he edge of the plate and lighter on the dog.
- I experienced the shift from right brain to left when I had to focus on the inside of the dog and not putting out the outline of her.
- My work really works with the dogs eyes, snout, and nose.
- Something I learned to put in my next piece was to cut deeper in the linoleum plate.
- Alesa De Jager is an artist that I admire for her color contrast and eye for nature.
- If I had a do-over I would cut deeper in the linoleum plate.
- I feel the best things are the eyes, snout, and nose.
