Pond

  • My goals and intentions for this piece were to create the indentations in the tree and use colors that you wouldn't normally use.
  • I accomplished my goals by looking carefully at how the ridges in the tree were curved.
  • I was surprised at how easy it was to. make the tree but at how hard it was to do it in different colors.
  • The most difficult challenge was using the purples and seeing all of the greens in the leaves.
  • I meet that challenge by breaking down each color of the leaves and by thinking like my role model artist for this painting.
  • I experienced the shift from right brain to left by focusing on the colors and shapes of the leaves and grooves in the tree.
  • This piece really works with the leaves and tree branches.
  • An artist that inspired me was Wolf Kahn because of all of his bright colors and his prospective on landscapes.
  • Something I learned going into my next painting is how to look at things through a new prospective.
  • If I had a do-over I would add more grooves and detail to the tree.
  • I feel that the best things are the branches and leaves.
